Synopsis

Home Delivery is the story of how it takes just a single day to change a person's outlook on life Vivek Oberoi is Sunny Malhotra, a 28 year old writer who has carved a name for himself as a popular agony uncle, named Gyan Guru, writing for the Times of Hindustan. Quite the prankster, Sunny enjoys pulling the wool over everyone's eyes, his favorite prank being to convince pizza delivery boys that they are late and hence not paying for the pizza. His funda in life – Convince or Be Convinced!

The buxom beauty Ayesha Takia plays Jenny, the fiancée of Sunny. Jenny is a humble human being who believes in God and is grateful for what she has in life. She loves her family and more than anything else, she loves Sunny. Just as Sunny is pessimistic about life in general, Jenny is optimistic about the future.

The extremely talented and superb actor Boman Irani plays Michael Burnett, a 51-year old man who is highly optimistic about life. Mahima Chaudhary plays Maya, a South Indian superstar. The sultry Maya used to be every teenagers pin-up girl in her hey-day. More importantly she used to be Sunny's poster girl, his ultimate fantasy. But since her prime is over, she moved down South to explore greener pastures.

Sunny is a bit of a cynic, he believes he is a self-made man and that whatever he has achieved in life is due to his own hard work and nobody else's. Sunny’s cynicism is extended to his views about marriage to his fiancée Jenny and to the festival of Diwali too.

Sunny has managed to bag a prestigious screenplay writing project for the most happening film director, Karan Johar.

Just as Sunny is cynical about life, Michael is optimistic about it. Michael is a simple minded man, almost childlike and has recently landed job as a pizza delivery boy at Mummy's Pizza. Michael has sort of an inclination to lose every job he has ever had in 2 days flat. This time, however, he vows to keep this one no matter what.

On the eve of Diwali, Sunny has loads of stuff to do and very little time to do it. He has to meet his screenplay deadline, he has to get rid of Wagle, his irritatingly intrusive next-door neighbor and he's got to avoid his editor's telephone call that is livid that he's bunking work.

But more importantly he needs to get Jenny out of the way because he has a date with Maya. The lure of Bollywood is too much for Maya to resist. She wants to make a comeback into Bollywood. That is when she meets Sunny, who has bagged a prestigious screenplay-writing project for Karan Johar. Maya looks at this as a golden opportunity and decides that she will go all the way to get a role in this film.

Since its Diwali, Jenny has organized a family dinner in her parent's house and constantly reminds Sunny to keep himself free that evening. The dinner is also special because they are planning to tell their parents about their decision to get married.

In this confusion, Sunny forgets that there is no food in his bachelor pad and orders a pizza that Michael is given the task of delivering.

And what Michael delivers to Sunny is so much more than just a pizza. Sunny is home delivered life's simple lessons right to his doorstep.

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Sahara One, Percept Picture Company, ‘Home Delivery’ also stars Saurabh Shukla , Tikku Talsania and Arif Zakaria and supported by Victor Banerjee, Viju Khote, Rushita Pandit, and special appearances by Karan Johar and Juhi Chawla.
